DIGITALISATION VISIONS FROM NIEDERKRÜCHTEN ARE TURNED INTO REALITY

Logistics is a fundamental part of many companies. WILMS Tiefkühl-Service GmbH - founded in 1916 as a trading business - sets itself the task as a wholesale and logistics company to find individual solutions for the daily challenges in logistics, especially in frozen logistics, for its customers. It does not matter whether national or international logistics chains are involved. From Niederkrüchten, the focus is always on the customer's needs and an appropriate solution is always delivered.

Due to the ever-increasing digitalisation of local and international markets, it is necessary for a company of this size to proactively deal with the acute issue in order to be able to guarantee such elementary standards to its customers in the long term.

PROJECT START

In 2019, KEK and WILMS sat down to critically examine possible future scenarios in a highly digitalised environment. Together, they identified the future need for intelligent software solutions for the "frozen food service provider of tomorrow". The awareness was quickly established that the digitalisation of business processes with SAP S/4HANA is a sensible and long-term all-round solution for relying on a strongly positioned ERP basis in the company in the future.

After a detailed analysis of the business processes at WILMS and taking long-term strategic aspects into consideration, it was decided to dispense with the previous isolated solutions from other software manufacturers and to introduce the logistics-specific "state-of-the-art" software modules from SAP directly.

In addition to the digital core SAP S/4HANA, these are the complementary solutions "Extended Warehouse Management" and "Transportation Management".  

In order to ensure the best possible implementation for WILMS in this project, KEK receives the active support of INFORMATICS Consulting & Development GmbH, whose expertise will be of essential value for the project, especially for the customised design of these additional modules.
