Every year, SAP Austria recognizes the three most successful implementations of SAP technologies in leading Austrian companies. The event, which had previously been held as part of the SAP Forum, took place this year for the first time as a standalone event at the Palais Coburg in Vienna.

The twelve most successful SAP applications were recognized in the four categories of “Business Transformation,” “Fast Delivery,” “Innovation,” and “Innovation Cloud.” SAP Austria presented Gold, Silver, and Bronze Quality Awards in each category. Over 100 projects were submitted.

Bronze Quality Bronze Quality Award for UNIQA

We congratulate our long-standing client, the UNIQA Insurance Group, on winning the Bronze Quality Award in the “Business Transformation” category for the “Fast Close – S/4HANA” project.

The project was implemented in phases with INFORMATICS over the past year. The goal was to modernize and streamline intercompany processes across the entire insurance group. As part of the project, preparations were also made to address changes in regulatory requirements, such as shorter reporting deadlines and new accounting standards like IFRS 17. The S/4HANA implementation in the areas of Materials Management (SAP MM) and Sales and Distribution (SAP SD) was carried out under the technical leadership of Otto Kitzmüller, CEO of INFORMATICS.

Since January 2019, the group-wide finance and controlling platform, based on SAP S/4HANA, has been rolled out across the entire organization.

Phase 1 of the standardization process began on January 1, 2019, in Austria, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The remaining ten countries (excluding Russia) were migrated starting in September 2018. The second phase of the group-wide software rollout was completed on January 1, 2020.

UNIQA is thus one of the first companies in the financial industry to implement SAP S/4HANA across the board as a modern foundation for standardized finance and controlling processes.

The UNIQA Group is also delighted to have received this award, and Gerald Lippert, Head of Finance and Risk Transformation in Group Finance, praised the collaboration, saying:“This award is a wonderful recognition of the international project team from the business units and IT.”
