Cloud technology, with both feet firmly on the ground—at INFORMATICS, we live by this motto not only in our SAP projects, but also when it comes to our team. At this year’s INFORMATICS Hiking Day, we turned off our screens, laced up our hiking boots, and swapped our daily work routine for the stunning natural scenery of the Salzkammergut.
A strong team works best when its members get along perfectly even outside of coding, cloud ERP implementations, and project deadlines. That’s exactly why group outings are an integral part of our company culture. For our 2026 hiking day, we chose one of Upper Austria’s most beautiful regions: the Salzkammergut. More specifically, we headed to Ebensee on Lake Traunsee for the picturesque Langbathseen loop.
The Langbath Lakes Loop: 7.5 kilometers of pure team-building
Right on the shore of the Vorderen Langbathsee, our group of over 30 people—including a few eager four-legged friends—set off on our “Langbathseen Loop.” The route is known for its idyllic setting among the striking peaks of the Höllengebirge and offers the perfect blend of exercise and relaxation.
Here are the details of our route:
- Route: Approximately 7.5 kilometers along the Vorderen and Hinteren Langbathsees.
- Walking time: A leisurely 2 hours, perfect for good conversation.
- Difficulty: Relaxed and down-to-earth—just right for everyone to feel at ease.
As we hiked through the fresh forest air and along the crystal-clear water, discussions about SAP and IT challenges quickly took a back seat. Instead, the focus was on personal interaction, getting to know colleagues from other departments, and having a great time.
A cozy stop at the Langbathseestüberl
Anyone who hikes and networks hard deserves a break. After about two hours in the fresh air, the whole team arrived at the Langbathseestüberl right on time for lunch. Right on the shore of the Vorderen Langbathsee, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch together at our reserved tables.
We wrapped up the outing in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying regional specialties and a magnificent view of the lake, before all our colleagues set off on their individual journeys home in the early afternoon, feeling well-rested.
