The BBRZ Group helps 100,000 people into working life every year. 3,500 employees at 135 locations provide this initial help into the job market. Such a large organization needs a powerful ERP system. Together with INFORMATICS, the company converted to S/4HANA.
In addition, the BBRZ Group runs social enterprises for people with disabilities who work in catering businesses or production facilities and operates CODERS.BAY in the Linz tobacco factory, where SAP is also taught.
It is also SAP that has ensured "good, high-performance and lean administration in the background" in the Group for years, as BBRZ Managing Director Dr. Christoph Jungwirth reports. The high service quality will now be ensured by S/4HANA. Together with INFORMATICS, the changeover has been completed in recent months. One fact shows just how complex this is: "Our financial accounting department has to deal with 70,000 incoming invoices every year."

PURELY TECHNICAL CONVERSION
The assignment for INFORMATICS was clear: "The conversion of the system to S/4HANA as a purely technical conversion without making any process or organizational changes at the same time," says INFORMATICS project manager Christoph Gerbel.
BBRZ Head of IT, Dieter Lamb, praises the good preparation. "The early conversion to S/4HANA not only gave us long-term investment security, but also enabled us to reduce our complex system landscape from five to two systems in addition to optimizing performance."
The conversion took 18 months. The INFORMATICS project group itself had a great deal of know-how in organization and accounting. "This made a few quick wins possible in the project. We were able to simplify the payment run with the banks or implement simple, management-friendly data preparation for reporting with the help of Fiori," says Elisabeth Steinbach, SAP Consultant at INFORMATICS.
QUICK-WINS PAVED THE WAY
Lamb also reports quick wins for the FAB production companies, such as "massively accelerated month-end closings, from hours to minutes." The outsourcing of SAP Basis operations to an external data center at eww ITandTEL increased operational reliability.
The project was completed on time and on budget. "We have never regretted our decision and the collaboration was exemplary," says Dr. Miriam Eder, Head of Controlling, Auditing and Compliance at the BBRZ Group.
