19th INFORMATICS SAPshots: SAP is in the (Ware)House

The 19th edition of the INFORMATICS SAPshots series on October 5 was all about (warehouse) logistics. The possibilities and opportunities of SAP EWM and TM were highlighted and an exciting look was taken into the future of supply chain management!

"There is probably no better place to provide insights into the world of SAP warehouse and transportation solutions," says INFORMATICS CEO Otto Kitzmüller.

Together with Alexander Osterer (TGW), Otto Kitzmüller welcomed the numerous interested visitors to TGW's Helix Arena. After insights into the history and current developments around EWM and INFORMATICS practice, the audience experienced exciting reference projects from WILMS Tiefkühllogistik and Lenzing AG.

EWM vs. stockroom management: which suits which?

This was followed by deep dives, each lasting half an hour, on the topics of "EWM vs. stockroom management", "advantages of advanced transport management" and "UI5 warehouse screens vs. standard EWM screens". Marcel Majer from INFORMATICS worked out the clearest differences between EWM and Stockroom Management and summarized the products. Stockroom Management has significantly reduced functions and no further development is expected. It does not require an additional license.

EWM, on the other hand, is the state-of-the-art warehouse management system, is constantly being further developed and is perfect for complex warehouse processes. Ongoing innovations are guaranteed. And EWM offers its customers the choice between a cloud or on-premise solution, basic or advanced package or between decentralized and embedded. The choice made by the participants probably depends on their individual requirements, but what they all had in common was that they were "well advised" after the SAPshots.
