Our development team around Viktoria Palnik has programmed an app in the last week that makes blood tube logistics and documentation in hospitals much easier.
The app is operated directly by the specialist staff on the wards. For each ward, it clearly lists the rooms in which patients need to have their blood drawn and what needs to be taken into account, such as whether a patient is infectious. The scan of the patient wristband triggers the automatic selection. If the patient is selected manually by the specialist staff, the staff must authenticate themselves again.
DETAILED DOCUMENTATION
When a patient is selected, a list is immediately displayed showing which tests are to be performed. The visual representation in the form of symbols provides more clarity. After the collection, the specialist staff scans the unique barcode of the tube and the collection is marked as completed by the system. The details are stored. This means that it is always documented who did the collection and also how and when it was done. When the tubes are handed in at the laboratory, all details and data are transmitted to the laboratory at the same time.
