SAP HCM Processes and Forms (HCM P&F) is not new. What is new, however, is that it can also be used with Fiori. This enables the digitalization and automation of HR processes with a modern, intuitive user interface. The solution relies on a consistent Fiori architecture for an improved user experience.
A classic case in an HR department: an employee submits a training request. It goes to Personnel Development, they pass the ball on to the HR department, from there it goes to the manager, who approves the request and then it goes back again. After the training, the costs are submitted and if the amount differs only slightly from the planned budget, the routine starts all over again. And all of this involves a lot of paper, stamps, etc. A process with many forms - "processes and forms". "But there is a way to easily digitize such processes," says Hannes Prodinger. "HCM P&F reduces the effort and touchpoints enormously. HR employees are under a lot of pressure, so they should concentrate on their core tasks." Thanks to HCM P&F, such cases now run automatically without media discontinuity. INFORMATICS implemented this at Schwarzach Hospital, for example. With the Launchpad, HR employees now have everything under control intuitively and always comprehensibly.

HR can focus on its core business
The applications are diverse. At Primetals, INFORMATICS is working on the automation of attendance and absence processes. Although there are standard apps, these are too inflexible or simply not sufficient, for example for doctor's appointments or when working from home. "Employees no longer have to get approval from their manager directly on site, but can now also do this digitally. We have launched a pilot in recent months. Now 1,600 people are already using this service."
Another customer project focused on the automated processing of travel allowances. "Due to a legal change and the associated increase in complexity, the existing process could no longer be handled manually. With HCM P&F, processing is now fully automated. The distance between the home address and the workplace is determined via an API and the corresponding travel allowance is calculated. The appropriate wage type is automatically generated in the background and paid out." This relieves the departments enormously. They only have to check the calculation in disputed individual cases.
