Everyone is familiar with interface problems. Complex solutions such as external servers, special programs or additional cloud services are often required to ensure communication between SAP and other systems and applications. INFORMATICS has developed a simple solution with its latest product: the Communication Framework (CFW).
"Thanks to CFW, communication between SAP and external solutions is extremely simplified. It supports REST interfaces - one of the world's most widely used technologies for data exchange between internet services and mobile applications," explains Bettina Harrer. The data from web services such as payment interfaces, sensors or internet apps can be easily stored in SAP and can also be exported again. This was previously only possible with great difficulty.
"CFW is a real data hub. The first customers are using it to connect a CRM system or to integrate a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) into their SAP system landscape, for example. RFID readers, parcel tracking or production planning will also be connected with CFW in future," says Bettina Harrer.

Another advantage is that the CFWBTP connector allows the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to be used to transport on-premise data to other clouds via BTP. "This is possible with some competitor products, but customers have to use their clouds. CFW offers complete freedom of choice and is lean, efficient and cost-effective."
Simple, inexpensive, highly efficient
Another plus point is usability. Customers learn CFW in just one day - without extensive training. "CFW creates interfaces without programming, can be extended in ABAP and can be configured in an intuitive interface." Alternatives usually require JAVA and external tools. CFW, on the other hand, is as flexible as an expensive individual solution via ABAP code adaptations, while many functions can usually be created with no-code or low-code knowledge. REST also works without CFW, but usually with greater effort, complex processes and without central administration. "CFW removes these hurdles: REST services can be created, extended and centrally managed in the dashboard without code." Views and tables can also be provided with just a few clicks. The latest product from INFORMATICS achieves the feat of working as individually as possible with standard software.
